LOGBOOK & QSL /

A contact. A memory.

A radio contact is a shared moment. A QSL confirms its details, digitally or on a card. Find the current arrangements for HB3YAQ and learn how a confirmation works.

CURRENT ARRANGEMENTS

No QSL service at present.

I currently do not send QSL cards. LoTW, eQSL, direct mail and bureau handling have not been configured either. Once a service is available, I will publish the instructions here.

FROM QSO TO CONFIRMATION

What a QSL confirms.

  1. Record the actual contact

Record the other station’s callsign, UTC date and time, band or frequency, mode and exchanged reports in your log. If something is wrong, check and correct the entry first.

  2. Distinguish a log entry from a confirmation

An entry in the public logbook initially records my side of a contact. It does not yet mean the other station has confirmed it. A received QSL is shown only when it is recorded in the underlying log.

  3. Use the appropriate confirmation service

LoTW matches contact data submitted by both stations. eQSL uses electronic QSL cards. Paper cards are another option. Each service has its own verification rules; confirmation in one does not automatically carry over to all the others.

Digital as the first step.

The proposed starting point is Wavelog for logging with LoTW for confirmations. The connection has not yet been configured. eQSL and a printed card can follow later. Wavelog manages contacts and confirmation records; it is not itself a QSL service.
