TROUBLESHOOTING WORKSHOP

DMR stays silent?

Check channel, RF link and network separately — through a repeater or your own Pi-Star hotspot.

For DMR with AnyTone and Pi-Star. Obtain repeater parameters from its operator. Make short transmit tests only when authorised, on a permitted, clear frequency.

YOUR NEXT USEFUL TEST

Verify the complete radio channel

Missing RF input or unchecked repeater values make the local RF link the next useful test.

  1. Match RX/TX frequency, colour code, time slot and digital channel type to your hotspot or repeater operator. A simplex hotspot uses the same RX/TX frequency; do not apply that blindly to duplex setups.
  2. On the AT-D168UV, check the DMR Mode option: its manual assigns repeaters/hotspots to Repeater mode; DMO/Simplex is for direct radio links. That is not the same as a simplex hotspot. Use your model’s manual before transferring settings.

What to look for next

Save the channel, actually select it on the radio and observe RF input again. Do not change network configuration at the same time.
