TROUBLESHOOTING WORKSHOP
DMR stays silent?
Check channel, RF link and network separately — through a repeater or your own Pi-Star hotspot.
For DMR with AnyTone and Pi-Star. Obtain repeater parameters from its operator. Make short transmit tests only when authorised, on a permitted, clear frequency.
Isolate the missing direction
Your answers narrow down configuration, but do not prove a working return path.
- For each direction record RF input, network entry and intelligible audio separately. On a hotspot also check whether return traffic arrives from the network and is transmitted locally.
- On the receiving radio compare volume, accessory audio output, channel/RX group and any enabled encryption option. Use matching unencrypted traffic for this test.
What to look for next
This observation identifies the specific missing transition for the next test. Without it, a reset would be guesswork.
