dBm

dBm expresses an absolute power level relative to 1 milliwatt, combining the logarithmic dB scale with a fixed power reference.

Also found under: dBm · Milliwatt · Power Level

A concrete example

0 dBm = 1 mW, 10 dBm = 10 mW and 30 dBm = 1 W.

What to keep in mind

Do not interchange dB and dBm: 3 dB is a ratio, while 3 dBm is a power level.
