Impedance

Impedance is complex opposition to alternating current: it includes resistance and a frequency-dependent reactance. Antenna input impedance is therefore more than a DC resistance reading.

Also found under: Impedanz · Impedance · Anpassung · Matching

A concrete example

A 50 Ω port and 50 Ω cable form a matched connection only when the load also matches.

What to keep in mind

An antenna tuner changes the impedance seen by the radio but does not automatically remove antenna and feed-line losses.
