  • Priority reception, frequency skip, level/noise and tone squelch.
Variants and sources

The owner confirmed the v5 version. According to Nooelec, a v5 marking underneath distinguishes it from older generations.

The datasheet’s electrical table places the direct-sampling/tuner crossover at 25 MHz. Its simplified block diagram uses inconsistent labels; the table values are used here. The specific tuner chip in this individual receiver has not been separately verified.

Maximum bandwidth is a manufacturer specification. The practical sample rate also depends on the computer and USB connection. An antenna bundle or upconverter is not assumed to be owned.

The collection also lists the newer 2200 mAh BP-10(A). These base specifications follow the manufacturer brochure with BP-10. The US retail version blocks cellular frequencies.

How to interpret the differences

BandwidthBandwidth is the width of a frequency range. A receiver filter limits the analysed range; the signal’s occupied bandwidth is a separate quantity.Example & full explanation →SDRIn a Software Defined Radio, software performs key signal-processing tasks such as filtering and demodulation. The analogue front end and converter still determine which signals can be processed.Example & full explanation →DMRDigital Mobile Radio is a family of digital radio standards. Amateur radio commonly uses DMR Tier II; channel configuration includes frequency, colour code, time slot and call destination.Example & full explanation →SimplexIn typical simplex voice operation, stations take turns transmitting and receiving on the same frequency. Only one station can speak intelligibly at a time.Example & full explanation →RepeaterA repeater receives signals and retransmits them. Many voice repeaters use different input and output frequencies; other stations are heard on the repeater output.Example & full explanation →

A wideband receiver and a handheld transceiver serve different purposes. A wider receive range does not automatically mean better sensitivity. Sensitivity depends on mode, measurement bandwidth and criterion, so this comparison does not create an overall ranking.

First check your required mode, then suitable antenna and accessory connections, and finally the power supply. A device’s transmit capability does not establish your personal permission to transmit.
