FM

Frequency modulation varies the carrier’s instantaneous frequency. Deviation and the highest modulation frequency influence the required bandwidth.

A concrete example

Narrowband voice FM requires different filter settings from a wideband FM broadcast signal.

What to keep in mind

An FM demodulator does not turn DMR or D-STAR into ordinary intelligible speech.
