Understand a DMR channel

Frequencies, colour code, time slot and destination have different jobs.

A repeater channel needs the operator’s confirmed output and input frequencies. From the radio’s perspective, repeater output is the receive frequency. Colour code must match the access point. On a DMR repeater, the chosen time slot must also match.

A digital contact contains the destination and call type. A talkgroup is addressed with a group call; it is not your own radio ID. The receive group list or monitor function also affects which incoming calls you hear. Successful reception does not prove correct transmit configuration.

Your turn.

Learning example with no real station: an access point requires CC 3, TS 2 and group call TG 9. Match these values to their fields. No frequency is prescribed and no radio is programmed.
