Prepare backup and identity

Use your own identifiers and a recoverable starting state.

Read and save the current configuration with a clear filename. Check the model, firmware and matching programming software. Someone else’s codeplug is not a universal template: frequencies, identifiers and button assignments may be unsuitable.

DMR uses your own assigned radio ID. D-STAR uses your own callsign in MY; a gateway may require separate registration. HB3YAQ’s identifiers shown on this site are not example values to copy.
